Bangor man comes down from roof after standoff with police


A Bangor man is accused of causing a standoff with police when he refused to come down from the roof of a house.

Bangor Police say 39-year-old Stephen Nason of Bangor is charged with criminal mischief and creating a police standoff.

Nason climbed on top of a roof at a home on 14th Street around 4 a.m. Wednesday and refused to come down until 11:30 a.m., when he was taken into protective custody to be evaluated and was later cleared at a hospital.

Nason also faces a probation violation charge.
