Bangor police charge New Jersey man with drug trafficking

BANGOR, Maine (WGAN) Bangor police seized up to $40,000 worth of cocaine and heroin from a New Jersey man.

Bangor police said they stopped a vehicle on Union Street on Monday evening around 6:30 p.m., acting on information from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. The passenger, 23-year-old Kayson Harvey of Newark, New Jersey, was found to be in possession of large amounts of cocaine and heroin.

Due to a prior drug trafficking conviction in Maine, Harvey was subject to searches by law enforcement as part of his bail conditions.

He’s charged with drug trafficking and violating conditions of release, and is being held without bail at Penobscot County Jail.
