Goodwins Mills Fire-Rescue

A barn is destroyed by a large fire in Arudel on Tuesday night.

Crews arrived to find a fire with heavy flames and smoke at a barn at 33 Thompson Road shortly after 8 pm.

Firefighters from Arundel were on the scene for close to four hours and were assisted by crews from Goodwins Mills, Kennebunk, and Kennebunkport, as well as several others.

They were able to keep the fire from spreading, although the barn was a total loss. No one was injured, and all animals from the barn reportedly survived.

Eight members from Goodwins Mills Fire-Rescue were sent to the fire after being called away from a scheduled forestry training exercise led by the Maine Forest Service.
