Bath Paramedic Charged with O.U.I. While On the Job

Mid Coast Hospital Paramedic James W. Perry, 54, of Bath was responding to a possible drowning incident on Thursday evening when he was arrested for Operating Under the Influence.

According to our info partners at WGME, Perry works full time for the city as a firefighter and paramedic, but what was working for Mid Coast Hospital when the incident occurred. Perry showed up to 1495 Washington St. in Bath where Bath police officers noticed notable signs of intoxication from Perry.

Perry was arrested on the spot and charged with O.U.I. before being released on personal recognizance bail.

Perry remains employed by the city at this time according to Bath City Manager Peter Owen.

“There are a lot of complicating factors we’re reviewing,” says Owen.

Mid Coast Hospital has placed Perry on administrative leave.

Perry is due to appear in West Bath District Court on November 6 at 1 p.m.
