A bicyclist has serious injuries after being hit by a pickup truck in Mechanic Falls Friday evening.

Police say a red 2024 Dodge pickup truck traveling north on North Street hit a bicyclist who was heading south.

Officers say the cyclist was seriously hurt and flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

A Lewiston Police crash reconstructionist was called in to assist with the investigation, and the road was temporarily shut down while crews processed the scene.

Mechanic Falls Police say an investigation is ongoing.
