VERNONA ISLAND, Maine (WGAN) Police say the body recovered from the Penobscot River is that of a Veazie man who was reported missing in January.

Police say 21-year-old Ryan Lamontagne hadn’t been seen since New Year’s Day, after he left his apartment without telling anyone.

His body was found in the Penobscot River near Verona Island last week.

According to the Bangor Daily News, police said the death does not appear to be suspicious.
