TOPSHAM, Maine (WGAN) Police are investigating after a Bowdoin College student was found dead in Topsham Sunday.

Police were called around 7 a.m. to a parking lot near the Frank J. Wood Bridge, where they located the body of a 20-year-old Bowdoin student from California.

The state medical examiner’s office conducted an autopsy, but as of early Monday morning, police were still waiting for the results.

Police have not released the name of the woman, but the president of Bowdoin sent a letter to the school community saying that Qingyang Zhan, who was also known as “K,” died overnight while off campus.
