LEBANON, Maine (AP) Fire officials say a body was pulled out of a burned-out home that had been intentionally set on fire in the southern Maine town of Lebanon.

Officials say they found the 58-year-old man dead on the second floor when they responded to the fire on Wednesday afternoon. The Portland Press Herald reports the fire was a case of arson.

The man has not just been identified by police, and his body was taken to the state medical examiner.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire was intentionally set. The man’s cause of death has not yet been determined. Officials say the man lived alone.

The fire marshal’s office and State Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating the death.
