MAGALLOWAY PLANTATION, Maine (AP) The body of a Massachusetts man has been recovered on the shores of a remote lake in Maine.

Officials said James Fulginiti, 64 of Falmouth, had not been seen by friends for several days.

A local campground owner drove a boat to Fulginiti’s camp on Little Beaver Pond, and found Fulginiti’s dog alone and Fulginiti’s boat stuck in the mud in a nearby cove.

Fulginiti’s body was discovered along the shore of the pond at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday about 200 yards from his camp.

Fulginiti was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Augusta to determine a cause of death.
