Lewiston police have released the identity of a body that was pulled from the Androscoggin River on Saturday.

Police responded to a report of a man’s body floating in the water in an area behind the old Peck building on Main Street.

On Thursday, the department said the body was that of 39-year-old Isar Coleman of Lewiston.

An autopsy has been completed, but the cause of death is still under investigation.

Lewiston police said it appeared Coleman’s body had been in the water for some time.

Police initially said the case would be labeled a suspicious death until more information is available.
