The State Medical Examiner is working to identify a body that was found in Washington County earlier this week.

The Maine Wardens Service was called to Amazon Road in the Grand Lake Stream area to recover the body, which was in a vehicle with out of state plates.

They say the body had been there for several weeks.

Deputies say the death does not appear to be suspicious, but remains under investigation.

They say it does not appear the deceased person was from the Maine area.

The body was located on Tuesday.
