Boy struck by vehicle at Millinocket crosswalk

A boy was taken by Life Flight to the hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a vehicle in Millinocket.

East Millinocket Police said an off-duty nurse aided the boy after he was struck near the intersection of Central Street and Congress Street around 5 p.m. Thursday.

Police said he was crossing the street outside of a designated crosswalk.

The crash is still under investigation, but speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.
