Portland (WGME) — Portland City officials announced they will be implementing a curfew for establishments where people gather in the city.

City Manager Jon Jennings says the curfew will be from 6 a.m. Tuesday through 2 a.m. Wednesday. Then again, from 8 p.m. through 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The City of Portland says the curfew is aimed at discouraging St. Patrick’s Day events, but take-out and delivery of food will be permitted. The city also recommends all restaurants close to dine-in customers.
