Brewer man arrested and charged with attempted murder and kidnapping

Former Brewer resident Brandon Rego, 32, was arrested in Palmyra on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault and several counts of domestic violence.

According to Penobscot County district attorney’s office, Rego faces charges of domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence terrorizing with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence terrorizing and two counts of domestic violence assault.

According to Bangor Daily News, the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest, but Brewer Police officer Michael Cummings was the primary case officer.

Rego has been transferred to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor where he is being held on a recommended cash bail of $100,000 with several conditions.
