Brunswick man accused of transporting shipment of drugs on train

BRUNSWICK, Maine (WGAN) Drug agents in Maine arrested a man as he got off the train in Brunswick.

Police say 44-year-old John Katula of Brunswick was arrested Monday and is charged with bringing a shipment of methamphetamine into Maine from Boston. Agents say he intended to distribute the drugs in Cumberland and Androscoggin counties. He was out on bail at the time of his arrest.

Agents seized 108 grams of meth, with a street value of $10,000, and other items associated with distributing the drug.

Katula was taken to Cumberland County Jail with bail set at $10,000. He was expected to appear in court in Poland on Wednesday.
