Buxton PD Searching for Hit-and-Run Driver

BUXTON, Maine (WGAN) Buxton Police are looking for the driver of a hit-and-run that left a teenager seriously injured.

Police say on Friday, Jan. 12, a 17-year-old female from Waterboro was walking across River Road in the area of Christian Row when she was hit by a truck.

Police say the victim had the flashlight function on her phone on and was almost fully across the road when she was hit. Police say the victim was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries.

Police say the suspected vehcile is a dark colored pick-up truck that was driving south on River Road, towards Saco. Police say the vehicle may show damage to the passenger side and should be missing the passenger side mirror.
