Case dropped against man previously accused of setting fire to his friend’s home

HAMPDEN, Maine (WGAN) Charges against a man accused of setting fire to his friend’s home in Hampden last week have been dropped.

According to our info partners at CBS 13 news, the Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office said Wednesday it was dropping the case against 35-year-old Mark Roussel of Princeton. He was released from jail Tuesday night.

Roussel was charged with arson last week after police said he set fire to the home on Main South Road, where he was staying with his friend and her daughter. The district attorney’s office said the case is still under investigation.
