‘Catalyst’ in deadly Woodford St. robbery to serve 8 years in state prison

A man who set up a robbery that turned deadly in will serve 8 years in prison, according to reports.

Anthony Osborne, 46, was sentenced Friday in connection with a robbery on Woodford St. in Portland in 2022.

The robbery resulted in the shooting death of 43-year-old Derald Coffin.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Osborne received 22 years behind bars with all but 8 years suspended.

However, he will have to serve the remaining time if he violates conditions of the four years of probation he received.

The Press Herald reports that Osborne is one of four men who were charged in Coffin’s death, but prosecutors him the “catalyst” in the robbery.

Days before he was set to go to trial, Osborne reached a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to one count of robbery in January.
