Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston was placed in lockdown Tuesday morning after someone called and threatened to come to the hospital with a gun.

According to the Sun Journal, the call was received around 9:15 a.m., and the hospital was put in lockdown around 9:30.

Hospital spokeswoman Jackie Weder told the newspaper they were unable to determine if the threat was credible.

The hospital was still accepting patients, but they had to go through the rear entrance where they would be screened by police.

We’ll have more on this as it develops.
