Central Maine Power Customers Will Soon Be Paying More

Central Maine Power customers will soon be paying more.

CMP says the Maine Public Utilities Commission has granted an increase of $2.50 to the average residential customer’s monthly bill, effective July 1.

The added expense is to cover the cost of restoring power during two powerful storms in October and November of last year.

Those storms resulted in combined outages of 410,000 customers. the increased costs will be spread out over three years.
