A 9-year-old child was struck by a vehicle while walking to school Monday morning in Bath.

Police say a 32-year-old Bath woman was turning left onto Richardson Street when she struck the child in a crosswalk.

The boy was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered serious or life-threatening.

Bath’s police chief issued a statement reminding motorists that pedestrians have the right-of-way in crosswalks and to pay close attention during school commuting times.
