Co-owner of Portland BBQ joint says burglar disabled security cameras before break-in

One of the owners of a Portland barbecue joint says a thief disabled his security cameras before robbing a safe in the restaurant.

Adam Powers is a co-owner of Elsmere BBQ on Stevens Avenue.

He says the burglar climbed on the restaurant’s roof and cut the internet connection, which disabled the restaurant’s security cameras.

The Portland Press Herald reports the cable company told Powers the disconnection occurred at 1:06 a.m.

Powers says the unknown suspect knew what they were doing, as there’s no footage of the incident and no fingerprints were left behind.

The incident is still under investigation.
