Dive Teams Recover Body of Lobsterman Who Fell Overboard

JONESORT, Maine (WGAN) Dive teams have found the body of a man who fell off a lobster boat Tuesday morning.

Coast Guard boats and aircraft had been searching the waters around Doyle Island, which is off Jonesport in Down East Maine. A Coast Guard spokeswoman, Chellsey Phillips, said that two men in another boat witnessed the incident Tuesday morning. The distress call was made at 9:15 a.m.

Phillips said a Coast Guard helicopter and airplane searched the area, along with boats.

Around 5:30pm Tuesday, the Coast Guard said that State Police and Warden Dive teams had found the body. More details are expected to come.
