WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) Republican Sen. Susan Collins is urging the president and first lady “a quick, full and safe recovery” from COVID-19, and she’s encouraging people to be vigilant about the coronavirus.

Collins said Friday that during a pandemic “we must continue to take the proper precautions to keep our families safe from the virus.”

The White House said Friday that President Donald Trump was suffering “mild symptoms” of COVID-19.

Democratic Maine House Speaker Sara Gideon, who is running against Collins, also sent wishes for a speedy recovery.
