Streets in Buxton were filled with families and floats as the town’s annual parade returned after a year hiatus due to the pandemic.
“This is one of the best ones we’ve had you know we had the wiener mobile I mean that’s great,” says Louise Myers, parade volunteer.
According to our CBS13 news partners, it’s a town tradition known to bring families and neighbors together.
“It was a pleasant surprise they had a lot of good looking floats,” says Myers.
For some, this year watching the floats pass by one by one and hearing the kids laugh and play had an extra special meaning,” says Myers.
“I think people really needed it. Lots of smiles from the young and the old made it all worthwhile,” says John Myers, Town Clerk.
They say the pandemic isn’t over but today’s parade gave them a taste of normalcy, something they’ve needed for awhile.
“People were ready for it people were ready to come out,” says Myer.
