BOSTON, Massachusetts (WGAN) The maintenance worker credited with evacuating a building in Farmington just before it exploded remains in the hospital, but his condition is improving.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Larry Lord was listed in fair condition at Mass General Hospital in Boston on Monday morning.

Lord was working at the LEAP Inc. building in Farmington the morning of September 16th when he smelled a gas leak. He cleared employees out of the building just before the blast, which was determined to be caused by a propane leak.

Fire Captain Michael Bell was killed in the explosion and several other firefighters were injured.

Lord was initially brought to the hospital in critical condition. His condition improved, but he was again listed in serious condition late last month. Lord suffered burns on over half of his body, broken bones, and other critical injuries.
