Congregation displaced by suspected meth lab discovered in Buxton church

A suspected meth lab discovered in a Buxton church has displaced a congregation of 94 members while dangerous chemicals are removed from the building.

Matthew Anderson, 33, was arrested in connection with the meth lab in a children’s playroom at Buxton United Methodist Church.

The Portland Press Herald reports services are being held at a nearby church while the other one is decontaminated.

Toys donated for Christmas have to be replaced due to contamination, and children will perform their Christmas pageant in makeshift costumes because the original costumes are inside the closed church.
