A Connecticut man was sentenced to more than eleven years behind bars for traveling to Maine to have sex with a minor.

A U.S. District Judge sentenced 30-year-old Devin Melycher to eleven years and three months in prison and ten years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty in June.

Court records show Melycher traveled to Maine in August of 2020 following weeks of chatting with the 13-year-old online. Documents showed Melycher told the minor he was 19.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security and the Gorham Police Department.
