Convicted murderer who escaped from correctional facilities 3 times dies at Maine State Prison

WARREN, Maine (WGAN) Corrections officials say a convicted murderer who was behind bars at the Maine State Prison has died.

Maine’s Department of Corrections says 68-year-Arnold Nash died on Thursday around 5:30 p.m.

No other information about his death was released.

According to CBS 13 news, Nash was convicted of murder and robbery in Sullivan in 1991. He was slated to be released in 2019, but escaped from prison in 2018. It was Nash’s third escape from a correctional facility.

At the time, officials said Nash had spent most of his life in prison and may have escaped knowing time would be added to his sentence.
