At least two people face charges after a robbery and police chase which ended in a crash in Dover-Foxcroft Monday.
Maine State Police say an elderly woman called 911 around 4 p.m. to report that a man broke into her home on McCard Road in Corinth, pushed her to the floor, took her jewelry, and then left in a dark colored car.
They say the victim was not injured and managed to get the license plate. Police say they spotted the vehicle heading north on Rt. 15 in Corinth and tried to pull it over, but the vehicle took off and led them on a police chase through the towns of Charleston and Atkinson.
Officers say the chase ended when the car crashed at the intersection of Range Road and E. Dover Road in Dover-Foxcroft and two people ran away into the woods, while a third person remained in the car with injuries.
Police say they tracked down and arrested the suspects who fled a short time later and identified them as 56-year-old Gary Roshto of Charleston and 35-year-old Kevin Bowley of Lagrange.
Police charged Roshto with robbery and eluding and took him to the Penobscot County Jail, while Bowley was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was also charged with robbery.
Officers say the third person who stayed in the vehicle after the crash was a 52-year-old Milo woman, who was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and will be summonsed at a later date.
The jewelry stolen from the home in Corinth was found in the vehicle.
