TEMPLE, Maine (WGAN)  State Police say the bodies of a husband and wife have been discovered inside their home early Tuesday afternoon.

Police say both people appear to have been shot.  Police say the ranch-style home is on Temple Road, a short distance from Farmington.

Troopers were called to the home this morning after a 911 call from the man at the home, who police say was threatening to shoot himself.

State Police tactical teams and negotiators arrived late morning and efforts to communicate with the couple were unsuccessful.

Police say the bodies were discovered by members of the tactical team who went into the home around 12:30 p.m.  State Police have identified the victims as 60-year-old Thomas Masse and 59-year-old Michelle Masse.

A team of State Police detectives and evidence technicians are now working to determine the circumstances of their deaths.  The State Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting autopsies on the bodies Wednesday.

Police say Thomas Massie worked at Collins Enterprises in Wilton and Michelle worked at the Colonial Valley Motel in Farmington.
