COVID-19 cases continue to soar Saturday, 1 death, 98 new cases

After a triple digit increase of coronavirus cases on Friday, the significant growth of cases continued Saturday with 98 new cases reported by the Maine CDC.

Maine also saw another death, a woman in her 90’s from York County, bringing the death toll to 147.

The total number of cases in Maine now sits at 6,668. With 5,907 have been confirmed and 761 probable.

The Maine CDC says 486 people have been hospitalized at some point during their illness. 22 more people recovered on Saturday to bring the total number of recoveries to 5,517.
