COVID-19 outbreak at St. Joseph’s College forces lockdown

An outbreak of COVID-19 at Saint Joseph’s College has put the school on lockdown.

Sunday afternoon, the president of the college Jim Dlugos implemented a “study in place” program for all students. According to our info partners at CBS 13 this  means all classes will be held remotely and students must stay in their dorm rooms as much as possible.

On Thursday, school health care workers found two positive cases of COVID-19 and in just 48 hours, nine students have become infected.

Dlugos says he believes the two students who first tested positive contracted the virus when they left campus over Labor Day weekend.

The “study in place” program will last for up to two weeks and all 850 students will be tested.
