The Maine CDC determined a COVID-19 outbreak at Coastal Ridge Elementary School in York, Maine on Sunday. This according to school superintendent Lou Goscinski.

In a letter sent to families, faculty and staff early Sunday, Goscinski declared the school building will be closed through October 22 to help prevent further spread of the coronavirus.

The school plans to have students return to school October 23, if things go accordingly.

Goscinski said students at Coastal Ridge will transition to distance learning during that time.

The York School Department is working with the Maine CDC to identify those who have been in close contact with the individuals that tested positive.
