Dyer Library in Saco is setting up a table near the front desk so that people can drop off craft supplies that they’d like others to be able to use.

The executive director of the library, Sophie Smith, says that many people in the community enjoy doing crafts.

She says that this is a great way to reuse rather than throw away.

In a quote given to CBS 13 the director shares her point of view on why this is a good idea for the community.

“At a previous library I had worked at, we had had a craft swap, so I thought, ‘Why not bring it here?’” Smith said. “It’s a good opportunity for people to clear things out, find some new projects to try and basically share within the community the resources that they already have.”

These crafts will be available until the end of the day Saturday, however Smith says that it has been a great success and that they are looking forward to doing similar events soon.
