One man was killed and another is in serious condition after a crash in Albion overnight Tuesday morning.

Maine State Police say 40-year-old Jonathan Nutt of China, Maine was behind the wheel when he went off Benton Road and entered a wooded area.

Nutt was taken by LifeFlight to the hospital where he’s listed in serious condition, while his passenger, 35-year-old Anthony Lapio of Burnham died at the scene.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
