Crash in Casco leaves man on electronic bicycle with serious injuries

A bicyclist suffered serious injuries when he crashed into a pickup truck in Casco.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says 71-year-old James Nason was operating an electronic bicycle on Route 302 Wednesday morning, when he attempted to turn left, crashing into a pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup, 29-year-old David Fields of Portland was not injured, while Nason was taken by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center.

Route 302 was shut down briefly, but reopened by 12:15 p.m.
