Crash in Sedgwick leaves teenage driver dead, passenger injured

A crash in Sedgwick on Friday claimed the life of an 18-year-old.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Dakota Markham of Sedgwick was driving on Caterpillar Hill Rd. around 10 p.m. Friday when he swerved into the oncoming lane and went off the road.

Markham’s 15-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Police said both teens were wearing seatbelts.

Inexperience and speed appear to be factors in the crash.
