A multi-vehicle crash in Auburn left two people seriously injured.

Police said the crash happened on Turner Road, or Route 4, between East Waterman Road and the Turner town line around 10:30 Monday morning.

Police say it appears a Chevy pickup being driven by a 36-year-old Peru man hydroplaned, crossing the centerline and going into oncoming traffic. The pickup hit an SUV being driven by a 78-year-old Auburn man.

The driver of the pickup was ejected and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV is in critical condition. Police said speed and road conditions appear to be factors in the crash.
