UPDATE: The Maine Turnpike Authority reports the road’s southbound lanes are back open.

The Maine Turnpike is closed southbound at mile 47 in Portland.

The road has been shut down after a multi-vehicle crash.

All southbound traffic is being detoured off the turnpike at exit 48 in Portland.
