Crews are reportedly making progress fighting a wildfire raging in the White Mountains near the Maine/New Hampshire border.

CBS 13 reports that although the Wild River fire is 20% contained, it’s still burning across more than 850 acres of wilderness located only a (relative) stone’s throw away from the Maine border.

The fire was first reported a week ago today, and was amplified on Tuesday night due to dry leaf litter from the ongoing drought.

Crews say they’re hoping to have the blaze fully under control by next Thursday.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials say it was likely man made.
