The Cross Insurance Center in Bangor will soon be a community vaccination site for older Mainers.

Northern Light Health said Wednesday that the venue will be used to vaccinate Mainers 70 and older. They said they were already vaccinating those individuals at smaller sites across the state as a temporary solution while they worked to establish a  larger permanent site.

“As vaccine shipments increase in the coming weeks and months, the Cross Insurance Center site will allow Northern Light Health to be well positioned to assist in the statewide vaccination effort,” said Matt Marston, the associate vice president of Northern Light Pharmacy.

Northern Light says it’s preparing for a soft launch of the new site on Tuesday, with a goal of vaccinating 900 people on Tuesday and another 900 on Thursday to start. It will eventually have more than 40 fully-staffed vaccinations stations when it opens at full capacity.

Vaccinations at the site will require an appointment. Residents 70 and older can register at this link or by calling 207.204.8551.
