Cyclist in Scarborough Hit Has Been Identified And Has Died


A woman riding her bicycle in Scarborough died after being hit by a vehicle on Route 1 Friday afternoon.

From our Info Partners CBS 13, Scarborough Police were looking to the public for help in identifying Kathleen Kirsch, 63,  the victim who later died from her injuries at Central Maine Medical Center.

The crash happened Friday September 13, 2019 around 3:15 p.m. in front of On the Vine Marketplace around Dunston’s Corner on Route 1. Route 1 southbound was closed for hours between Payne Road and Broadturn Road, causing traffic backups for miles.

Police are continuing to investigate but are not releasing further details at this time.
