More than 280,000 Mainers are affected by a data breach targeting Covenant Health.

On Wednesday, the company, which owns St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, filed an amended data breach with the Maine Attorney General’s Office.

The breach was initially reported back in July, when it was believed that only about 4,600 Mainers were impacted.

Covenant is offering credit monitoring and identity theft protection for those affected.
