Detectives recover body buried in Norway

NORWAY, Maine (WGAN) Maine State Police say detectives have located a body buried on a property in the town of Norway.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says the remains were recovered in the backyard of a home on Harrison Road on Tuesday. The body was brought to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta where an autopsy will begin Wednesday.

Investigators say the remains are that of a woman believed to be in her 80s who likely died in the past 12-18 months, and may lived in a mobile home on the property.
