Dog badly injured after erratic driver strikes semi-truck in Westbrook

The driver of a pickup truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries when they hit a semi-truck in Westbrook Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they tried to stop the erratic pickup driver on Spring Street who almost collided with a police cruiser before striking the back of the semi and rolling over around 2:30 p.m.

A small dog in the pickup truck was taken to a veterinary clinic for what police said were grievous injuries.

The crash is under investigation.

Police said more details including the name of the pickup driver will be released in the near future.
