Driver charged after bucket truck rollover crash in Hallowell

HALLOWELL, Maine (WGAN) The driver of a bucket truck that overturned after it’s rear axle became detached in Hallowell has been charged.

According to our info partners at CBS 13 news, the crash happened on Route 201 around 8:45 Tuesday morning. Police say the axle came off due to “improper inspection standards”, causing the driver to lose control and the truck to roll over.

The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries but their passenger was not hurt.

Police say the inspection sticker was expired. The driver was charged with operation of a defective motor vehicle.
