FAIRFIELD, Maine (WGAN) Maine State Police say the driver of a vehicle that went up in flames after crashing into guard rails was pulled out of the wreck with a broken leg.

Police say the pickup truck being driven by 24-year-old Devin Douglass of Clinton went off the interstate in Fairfield just after 8 a.m. Thursday. The truck took out guardrail posts before coming to rest in the median, later bursting into flames. A passerby was able to pull Douglass out of the vehicle before it caught fire.

Motorists reported that Douglass had been driving erratically just before the crash. He was taken to the hospital.

Police are still investigating the crash.
