Maine State Police say a sheriff’s deputy was injured in a tractor-trailer rollover in Brewer.

Police say the tractor-trailer was heading west on I-395 around 8 a.m. Tuesday when the driver failed to negotiate a turn, rolling the vehicle over and striking a Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office cruiser that was heading east.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 41-year-old Kristofer Higgins of Baileyville, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The sheriff’s deputy, Sgt. Gary Decker, was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

DEP crews were at the scene cleaning up diesel that spilled from the tractor-trailer.
