Drug bust at Winthrop motel leads to two arrests

Two people were taken into custody for selling drugs out of a motel in Winthrop.

34-year-old Stephen Lee Smith of Connecticut and 32-year-old Katelynn Dubois of Winthrop were charged with aggravated drug trafficking following their arrests on Wednesday.

Drug agents searched the motel room and storage units in Winthrop and Gardiner, which turned up fentanyl, cocaine, and thousands of dollars in suspected drug proceeds.

Smith and Dubois are being held at Kennebec County Jail.
